Mini Electric - 'Nanuk the Polar Bear'

We had the pleasure of directing and animating this global project for Mini USA. A total of 18 campaign assets were created including 30" and 15" television commercials, social media videos in a variety of different aspect ratios and durations, digital out-of-home and high res print assets. Our polar bear character was so well received with thousands of social media comments suggesting that he should have his own paint colour named after him, so Mini introduced a brand new paint colour for their electric range called Nanuk White. The commercial that became a paint colour!     

We were stoked to see our work shortlisted 3 times at the ADC Awards for animation craft and also twice at The One Show in the social media and direct marketing categories.

Mini Electric - 'Bobblehead''

We crafted this engaging social animation to mark Earth Day and Mini's partnership with Polar Bears International. As part of this celebration, Mini offered limited edition bobbleheads as a complimentary gift with a donation, with all proceeds dedicated to polar bear conservation efforts. Additionally, the video acted as a captivating teaser for our earlier Mini Electric Polar Bear campaign

Mini Electric - 'Trust Your Inner Mini-logue'

Better than any car salesman or dealership, the most persuasive voice in a car buying journey is inside the customer’s own head. To juxtapose the often serious and practical mindset that comes with purchasing a new vehicle, the "Trust Your Inner MINI-Logue” campaign aims to cater to that fun-loving, thrill-seeking and self-indulgent voice that lives in all of us.

We created a series of videos to drive traffic to an AI powered online experience. We used facial motion capture to animate a realistic 3D MetaHuman character. Gestures were kept generic and simple to cater for a range of different scripts and durations. The driving shot is also CGI, we removed the existing car from a supplied photograph and then rebuilt it in 3D to match perfectly.

Mini Electric - 'End Frame Animation'

We were tasked with creating an animated end frame using an exisiting photograph. We wanted the car to drive in to frame which meant removing the existing car and replacing it with an identical 3D version that we could animate. A few people also needed to be removed from the background, we kept the storekeeper as he was standing still but replaced his face with a piece of moving footage that we shot so he could move his head slightly and watch the car as it drove in. We also extended the shot a little bit on the right-hand side so we could turn the camera slight and follow the car as it drove in. Moving shadows were also filmed and comped in to the shot and across the car to bring the scene to life.

Procreate '3D Painting Tool'

As part of the Mini customisation campaign, we created a 3D painting tool inside of the Procreate iPad app. Users could paint or stencil patterns directly onto the 3D car and create their own custom paint designs. The tool also shipped with a custom pack of brushes and paint materials, including matt, gloss and metallic paints finishes.

Mini Electric - 'Summer of Drive'

We created a series of 'retro video game style' spots to promote Mini's Season of Drive. We used AI tools to generate individual layer elements for the backgrounds, then we retouched them together, added pixel effects and animated it all together at a slow frame rate to mimic the old 8-bit video games.

Mini Electric - ''Spike Escapes Las Vegas Sphere''

A short viral video to promote the launch event happening at the Las Vegas Sphere. The animated character 'Spike' plays a big part in the new Mini range. Videos of him were playing on the newly opened Sphere building in Vegas during the launch of the new Mini range, so we thought it would be fun to make a video where he had broken free and was roaming Las Vegas!

Mini Electric - 'Motor-tober'

A series of movie-style posters to promote Mini's annual Motor-tober event, where guests can enjoy spine-tingling test drives and a unique way opportunity to enjoy the Mini brand. We also created a 3D video store scene to use as a backdrop for our social animations.
